OUR STORY

It began with an accident, as these things often do. Dr. Stewart VonHellton commanded his carriage driver to "Stop for no one!" as they raced through the damp darkened cobblestone streets of Whitechapel London. A heavy bump in the road barely registered in his mind as VonHellton excitedly ruminated on his latest scientific accomplishment; impatiently waiting to share news of his latest victory with his wife Eloise. Arriving at his manor estate, he found no sign of his beloved. A knock soon came to his mahogany entry door. Standing in the rain an officer of the law, hat solemnly in hand, broke terrible news that Eloise, while shopping in town, and had been fatally struck by an unknown speeding carriage. Two years later, VonHellton was a changed man...but not at all for the better. He had dedicated his life to dark arcane arts; recklessly fusing science and the occult in fruitless efforts to resurrect his wife...fruitless, that is, until one fateful stormy evening. As lightning crashed, his beloved's decaying corpse, laying on a cold stone slab, twitched. She rose again...but this undead beast was nothing but a pale shadow of Eloise. Mindless, soulless, she attacked the Doctor. He had no choice. The pistol fired in the dark. His love was dead...for a second time by his hand. Fueled by loss, rage, frustration and pure mania, he continued his search for a "cure". He began in Whitechapel, hunting the desperate, the poor; "ripping" apart "women of the night" as part of his sadistic research. When he felt his deeds might be too bold, he relocated to America, where he built a grand "hotel" for his experiments; a "hotel" where the visitors never left. After catching the attention of authorities, he expertly framed another man and moved to a settlement in Colorado where he had heard of a gentleman named Tesla who had learned to control lightning

Through his research, VonHellton later discovered a way to prolong his own life. After relocating his family manor, brick by brick, to Colorado he used his newfound time to work. His mind twisted by time and self-experimentation drew him to create a vast number of abominations. For years he drew spirits and specters from the beyond, raised horrors from the dead, and locked the worst of his failures in a secret dungeon below his estate. And then... he vanished. Gone. His manor and "children" however, still remain. Without their master they are in a constant struggle for dominance of the estate. Who will win? Perhaps YOU will decide....
